Corporate Responsibility Policy

Preface

At GJS, we are committed to operating responsibly across all areas of our business. Our approach to corporate responsibility is aligned with what we do best: delivering a high standard of service while creating a positive impact for our customers, partners, community and the environment.

As a same day courier and logistics provider, our approach is practical and aligned with the nature of our operations.

Our approach to corporate responsibility is structured around four key areas: Environment, People & Partners, Community, and Governance.

We are developing a sustainability strategy informed by recognised frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, principles aligned with the B Corp movement, and an ongoing review of formal standards such as ISO 14001. Our focus is on practical, operational improvements that support long-term, responsible growth.

Environment

We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our operations and improving the efficiency of how we deliver our services.

Our approach includes:

  • Promoting the use of electric and low-emission vehicles within our network
  • Carbon offsetting through our partnership with Switch2Zero, supporting verified environmental projects
  • Route optimisation to reduce mileage, fuel consumption and emissions
  • Consolidation of deliveries where possible to improve efficiency
  • Ongoing review of greener technologies and transport methods as they become viable

Emissions & Measurement

We recognise the importance of measuring and managing our environmental impact.

We are developing our approach to tracking emissions across:

  • Scope 1 – direct emissions from vehicles and operations
  • Scope 2 – indirect emissions from energy usage
  • Scope 3 – emissions across our wider supply chain

Our Supply Chain

As our business grows, we are committed to improving the accuracy and transparency of our emissions reporting.

Carbon Reduction & Future Approach

We are committed to reducing emissions across our operations over time and are exploring practical pathways towards lower-carbon logistics.

This includes:

  • Increasing the proportion of low-emission and electric vehicles within our network
  • Working with drivers and partners to support more sustainable delivery methods
  • Reviewing opportunities for more efficient routing and consolidation
  • Continuing to offset carbon through verified environmental projects

Standards & Accreditation

We recognise the value of formal environmental management systems and are reviewing the implementation of recognised standards such as ISO 14001 as part of our growth.

People & Partners

We are committed to maintaining fair, safe and professional working practices across all areas of our operations.

 This includes:

  • Working with trusted, professional drivers and partners
  • Promoting safe working practices across all logistics and handling activities
  • Maintaining fair and transparent working relationships
  • Treating all individuals with respect and professionalism
  • A zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, forced labour and exploitation

We aim to work collaboratively with drivers and partners to maintain high standards, support long-term relationships and encourage responsible working practices across our network.

Community

We recognise the importance of contributing positively to the communities in which we operate.

As a growing business, our approach is focused on creating meaningful impact through our activities, partnerships and relationships.

This includes:

  • Supporting local communities through our operations and partnerships
  • Building long-term relationships with customers, suppliers and stakeholders
  • Working with organisations and initiatives that align with our values where possible
  • Considering the wider social impact of our services and business decisions

We are committed to developing our approach to community engagement as our business continues to grow.

Governance

We operate with a strong focus on governance, accountability and responsible business practice.

Our approach to governance ensures that our operations are structured, controlled and aligned with the expectations of our customers and stakeholders.

This includes:

  • Defined operational processes for planning and delivering time-critical logistics
  • Clear accountability across all areas of the business
  • Centralised job allocation, tracking and communication systems
  • Compliance checks across drivers, vehicles and suppliers
  • Maintenance of appropriate insurance cover across all services
  • A risk-aware approach to service delivery, particularly for time-critical and high-value consignments
  • Transparent and professional communication with customers and partners

We are committed to maintaining high standards of governance by:

  • Regularly reviewing and improving our processes and controls
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards
  • Strengthening internal policies and procedures as the business grows

Industry Standards & Memberships

We recognise the importance of aligning with industry best practice and maintaining awareness of evolving standards within the logistics sector.

We engage with relevant industry bodies and frameworks where appropriate, including:

  • Road Haulage Association (RHA)
  • UK Warehousing Association (UKWA)
  • Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS), where applicable

These affiliations support our understanding of compliance requirements, operational standards and ongoing industry developments.

Our Commitment

We view corporate responsibility as an ongoing process rather than a one-time initiative.

We are committed to:

  • Continuously improving our environmental performance
  • Maintaining high standards of ethical conduct
  • Strengthening our operational processes as we grow
  • Adopting appropriate frameworks and standards where relevant
